A special slice of American history is now right here in Northwest Arkansas.
The Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art opened a brand new exhibit on Saturday, May 12.
It's called "American Encounters: Thomas Cole and the Narrative Landscape," and features six pieces by three different artists, including "The Cross in the Wilderness" by Thomas Cole, pictured above.
The paintings are part of a traveling exhibit partnership with several other museums, including the iconic Louvre in Paris.
You can see "American Encounters" through August 13.
