How did you get into the business? The couple was looking for a home based business opportunity that would allow Debbie to create income without taking another job outside the home. Because Fast-teks performs only on-site service and repair, it seemed like a good fit. They decided that working with a franchise would be the best bet for them so they looked in that direction first. “Franchises are the small, local corporation with the big corporation strength behind them,” Debbie said. Fast-teks utilizes only A+ certified technicians to do repair, service, consulting and training.
Best thing about the business: “Being able to help people. Our techs are able to recover lost personal files such as pictures or financial data for a client, or get their slow running computer up to speed again. This is a big help to our clients.,” Clark said.
Worst part about the business: ”In the beginning you’re a bit nervous as you build your business, but I’m pretty confident in what we’ve done.”
Key to success: Enjoying what we do and keeping our focus on providing exceptional customer service.
Biggest misconception about the business: “People think it’s too expensive to have a computer fixed and just decide to go out and get a new one,” Clark said. ”Actually it’s too expensive not to come see us.”
Clark said that for businesses, too much is tied up in computer systems these days, from inventory to client lists. If a computer breaks down, the information can be lost for good. She also said that the cost may not be as high as people believe and that they should look into fixing the computer before putting down the money on a new product.
Future plans: In the future the Clark’s hope to grow and to perhaps purchase another franchise.
