Reported by: Aaron Nolan Monday, Oct 19, 2009 @09:55pm CDT The Woodland Junior High School Volleyball team in Fayetteville is helping bring awareness to breast cancer. Monday the team wore pink jerseys, pink socks, and even pink shoe laces to show support.
The team's Head Coach Jennifer Taylor talked about the inspiration for the night saying, "Me and my husband were sitting at home watching the NFL, and we saw all the pink stuff and we thought, you know, if a group of men can dedicate an entire month of the season to this event, and bring awareness to this cause, a group of young girls should be able to do the same thing." The team wanted to raise $500 for the cause, and Taylor hopes to make this an annual event. |
