Wednesday, Oct 21, 2009 @10:47pm CDT Bentonville-based Walmart is leading the way in terms of becoming more environmentally-friendly. It all started in 2005, when the former CEO Lee Scott delivered a speech about the importance of going green. Scott laid-out three major goals for the future of Walmart.
The first goal is to be supplied 100 percent by renewable energy. Number two, was to create zero waste. And finally, Walmart needs to sell products that promote sustainability in stores and clubs across the world. Most customers have responded, especially in the area of buying eco-friendly products. In response, Walmart has chosen to look for new and better "green products". |
