New numbers are out for obesity and diabetes cases in Arkansas, and they don't look good. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, at least 29 percent of people, in more than half the counties in the state, are obese. Northwest Arkansas and central Arkansas are the slimmest areas in the state, with less than 27.7 percent of people suffering from obesity.
        The C.D.C. also reports at lease nine percent of the population, in more than half the counties in Arkansas, have diabetes. Benton, Washington, and Madison Counties are among the healthiest in the state, though, with less than 7.2 percent of the population diagnosed with diabetes.
