  • Congressman Hears Complaints
    Reported by: Brad Reed

    Wednesday, Jul 2, 2008 @10:05pm CDT

Congressman Boozman held the open forum because he wanted to know exactly how high gas prices are hurting the average American. The forum also gave people a chance to let the Congressman hear their ideas.

“We need to use more of what we have here. We have oil in Alaska, and lots of it,” said Jack Perry, a local Rancher.

The Congressman agreed, saying America needed to use its natural resources to its advantage.

"We have to use American products. We have to use American oil and gas, wind and solar, all the things that we're blessed with,” said Congressman Boozman.

People who attended the meeting came away from it feeling like the Congressman really listened to what they said.

"I think he's actually going to take the comments that we made and hopefully pass them on and use it to accomplish some good,” said Dena Daniel, a business owner from Greenland.

The congressman is using the open forum discussions to gather information for a new energy policy he's working on in Washington, D.C.
