At The White House today, breast cancer survivors and lawmakers heard stories from women who were denied coverage after being diagnosed with the disease. First Lady Michelle Obama said the President's plan would help anyone who may have breast cancer but is unaware of it because they can not afford a mammogram. Also under the plan, insurers would not be able to deny coverage to customers because of a pre-existing condition and would be required to pay for preventative screenings like mammograms. |
