Employee Benefits Wellness Program

Everyone knows that Healthcare is the most kicked-around issue in the media today. Health care cost per employee are now reaching close to $10,000 per employee, regardless of their health- up from $5,000 only 7 years ago. Obesity ranks as the leading cause of major health conditions, including type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, breat and colon cancer, high blood pressure, and many more. Today 8 out of 10 people over the age of 25 are overweight- 6 out of 10 are obese! You can see the problem, and it's getting worse! We have had a 76% increase in type II diabetes in adults 30-40 since 1990, and that's just in one age group. What will happen when those people reach their 50's, if they get there?
Our government can do all they want to in order to "fix" healthcare in this country, but until we can change our eating habits, exercise habits, as well as several other healthy lifestyle changes, our healthcare problem is going to continue to get worse!
Village Insurance decided to do something about it with our clients! We have partnered with Mercy Health Systems and World Gym Fitness Centers to come up with our EBS Wellness System, which we hope will help make our client's employee's live healthier and more productive lives.

It is really a 3-phase process:
1) First, with the help of Mercy Health Systems, we will be doing a health assessment for all of our client's employees that want to participate in the program. This assessment will detect particular lifestyles of the employees that could lead to health problems, identify as a group the areas of health and wellness that need to be emphasized.
2) Secondly, Mercy will complete an overall health assessment and develop a strategy for improving the health of the employees. Goals will be set for the group each year. This will not intrude in any way on a person's right to privacy concerning their health conditions. We are simply providing an avenue for the employees to help themselves if they so choose.
3) The 3rd and final stage will be the implementation of the overall group health plan for the employer. There are potential opportunities for learning sessions about :

---Healthy skin management

---Dental health and many, many more
There are group discounts to be a member of World Gym fitness centers, our water bottle plan, possibly group incentive plans and contests and anything else that the employer and their employees can come up with! We believe not only will this plan, if implemented properly improve the health of the employees on a long-term basis, but it will help attitudes in the business, as well as help to make the workplace more productive.
