On December 30, a man reported a prowler at his home on Angela Street in Springdale. The man told police someone wearing a ski mask rang his doorbell. The man said he later found a note under a rock, which he gave to police.
The note demanded "jewelry, gold, silver and stones be placed in a bag and dropped off at a picnic table at Lake Atalanta in Rogers." The note said if it was not done by 7, the writer would do harm to the caller's grandchildren.
Rogers police helped Springdale officers to gather surveillance of the man and make a controlled drop. When a man emerged from the woods and picked up the bag, detectives arrested him.
Miles McCutcheon, 26, faces robbery and terroristic threatening. He told police that he did this for financial gain.
