Online Petition Started Against Firearms on AR College Campuses

By: Lisa Mendenhall
Updated: February 5, 2013

Several students and faculty members at the University of Arkansas are in opposition to the firearm proposals the Associated Student Government has been discussing.

Read more about the UA ASG's discussion HERE.

In fact, there's an online petition making the rounds to express concern.

More than 1,200 people have put their virtual signatures on this page at SignOn.Org.

The petition says anyone who signs it believes that only law-enforcement officials should be able to carry weapons at the University of Arkansas or on any other college campus in the Natural State.

Petitioners plan to deliver the paper work to the Arkansas State House and Senate, as well as the governor, once it has at least 2,000 signatures.
