Monday's Edge List: Top 5 Oscar Moments
Number Five -- Jennifer Lawrence Trips
Jennifer Lawrence was the bell of the ball at this years Oscars when she won the best actress award for "Silver Linings Playbook". Lawrence even made falling on the way to the stage adorable, something most stars would have been ridiculed for.
Number Four -- William Shatner and Seth MacFarlane
It was the best-kept secret of this years Oscars, William Shatner helped Seth MacFarlane open the awards during a funny segment featuring Shatner as his "Star Trek" character "Captain Kirk". The opening featured MacFarlane dancing with several celebs and cracking several jokes, some hits, some misses.
Number Three-- Adele's Performance
Adele's highly anticipated performance during this year's awards did not disappoint. She blew the crowd away, performing "Skyfall", and also took home an Oscar for best original song.
Number Two -- Les Miserables Cast Performance
During a special tribute to movie musicals, the cast of Les Miserables took the stage performing a song from the film. After the live performance, the entire audience rose to its feet for a standing ovation. Anne Hathaway later won the Oscar for best supporting actress for her role in the film.
Number One -- Michelle Obama
The biggest surprise of the night came at the very end, for the biggest award of the night. Jack Nicholson took the stage to introduce First Lady Michelle Obama, who presented the award for Best Picture. She thanked Hollywood for encouraging children to open their imaginations, and said that the nominees demonstrate that we can overcome any obstacle. The First Lady then announced that "Argo" would take home the biggest award of the night.
