An 18-year-old Bentonville man has been arrested in connection with an August 2012 car accident.

Juan Manuel Ramirez was arrested Friday and charged with negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with the wreck that killed 19-year-old Emanuel "Manny" Perez-Serrano on August 8, 2012.
According to a media release, officers responded to the accident on the 900 block of North Main St. in Bentonville and took Perez-Serrano to Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville where he later died.
18-year-old Bernice Martinez, who was also injured in the accidnet, was listed by Arkansas State Police at the time as the driver of the vehicle.
She was arrested at the scene for misdemeanor warrants.
Later that morning, Police were informed by Mercy Hospital Personnel about a person in their emergency room who had possibly been in an accident.
That investigation, along with State Crime Lab evidence and witness statements, led to Ramirez's arrest.
He was charged with negligent homicide, leaving the scene of an accident with injury and driving without a license.
He's being held in the Benton County Jail awaiting a probable cause bond hearing.
