About 40 Benton County Roads crew members have been working since 4 Tuesday morning responding to calls of slick roads, and treating them as quickly as possible.

Winter weather trucks had been spreading a salt and sand mixture throughout the county.

Spots like intersections, bridges and overpasses were treated first . The county relied heavily on locals to keep the streets safe.

"Just been mostly focusing on residents calls, telling us that they have slick areas. There's been a couple of accidents, and so we've hit those areas as quick as we can, taking the worst spots first and working our way out," Cindy Jones, Benton County Roads Department Coordinator said.

Fortunately the roads department said they expected what they got in terms of snow.

Now the treatment stage is over and the cleanup begins.

Since roadways are expected to stay above freezing, crews are now just pushing slush out of the streets.
