Positive earnings numbers from Cisco and even lower oil prices resulted in strong numbers on Wall Street. Oil lost another .54 cents a barrel to close at $62.55 on Nymex. Also encouraging investors -- news that Pfizer might sell it`s consumer products business. The Dow added +108.86 (+1.01%) to close the session at 10,852.62. The NASDAQ added +22.02 (+0.98%) to finish at 2,266.98 and the S&P 500 added +10.87 (+0.87%) to close at 1,265.65. Local stocks posted mostly positive numbers. Tyson Foods (TSN) added +0.43% to close at $14.14. JB Hunt (JBHT) added +1.80% to close at $23.77. Acxiom (ACXM) lost -0.45% to close at $24.36 and Wal-Mart (WMT) added +1.48% to finish at $45.40. In terms of economic figures out today -- we`ll see initial jobless claims for the week behind and we`ll also get a look at December Wholesale Inventories. Earnings today come from Aon corporation and Marriott. Overseas in Asia, the Nikkei gained +0.8% to reach 16,403.99 at the mid-day break in Tokyo. Back in the U.S., in extended hours trading, the NASDAQ 100 Afterhours Indicator rose +0.2 (+0.01%) to close the night at 1,670.67.
