NWACC officially announced plans to renovate one of its old buildings into a child protection training center. The project will cost about $3-million. The facility will provide services to law enforcement, nurses and anyone who deals with child abuse.
NWACC president Dr. Becky Paneitz says the building is one small step toward stopping child abuse.
"The goal is through training and education and great technologies of detection and dealing with child abuse will hopefully someday eradicate the entire issue."
Paneitz says NWACC plans to raise money for the renovation through individual donations.
