"Somebody came in with a big sheet of bats and put it in some guys room."
Freshman Luke Vammen said that`s the general story circulating around campus.
Vammen said the victim of the prank is a freshman in a fraternity - but the university won`t tell us his name.
Campus police say they don`t think there`s anything friendly behind it. Lieutenant Gary Crain said, "Usually if a prank occurs, its a prank between friends and the police arent called, and no harm is done."
Around two in the morning last Tuesday, the freshman walked into his dorm, and found about 20 bats swarming around the room.
He called campus police, who called animal control. Ross Collins with animal control was the first to respond, "Some of them were stuck to the walls and roof, but it wasn`t too bad catching them."
Collins said the victim didn`t think it was too funny, "He was there and was very shook up. He actually left the location before all the bats were rounded up."
Police say the pranksters are facing criminal charges ranging from a harassment charge to cruelty to animals.
The bats were taken to the outskirts of town and released.
