As a result, Tyson Foods has taken a step toward solving that problem by donating about 38,000 pounds of breaded chicken to the food bank.
It also donated more than 38,000 pounds of chicken to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma in Tulsa.
Tyson`s donation will provide 228,000 meals and serve 100,000 people, said Rodney W. Bivens, Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma executive director.
Bivens said he expects the donation to be dispersed within 15 days among the food bank`s 500 feeding programs.
