Women and children gathered in front of the US consulate in Benghazi Monday to pay their respects to US Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the three other Americans killed in last week's attack.
The Libyans brought flowers along with messages of sadness and remorse to the gate of the consulate.
Stevens and three other Americans were killed in the September 11th attack on the consulate that was part of a wave of assaults on US diplomatic missions apparently triggered by a low budget video that insults the prophet Mohammad.
One Libyan activist said stevens' loss is a tragedy for Benghazi because he worked so hard to keep the city and its people safe.
