Man Hit by Car Killed on Thanksgivng

Springdale police investigating a deadly Thanksgiving day accident at Thompson and Searcy. According to a news release 74-year-old Truman Lewis Patterson of Seligman, MO. was crossing Thompson street when he was hit by a Ford Explorer. Police say it appears Truman was at Northwest Medical Center with his wife when he decided to go across the street to get something to drink. Police say when he came back he was hit by the SUV. According to investigators it was dark and there was no crosswalk. Truman was taken to Northwest Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Police took the driver of the Ford Explorer in for blood alcohol testing, which is standard procedure for serious injury or deadly accidents. The driver registered .00 meaning there was no alcohol detected. The driver has not been charged or cited however the investigation remains on going.
