Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe is warning Washington to think twice about budget cuts when it comes to the Arkansas National Guard.

Appearing before a mostly military audience, Beebe was the keynote speaker at the community council meeting at Camp Robinson.

Governor Beebe praised the work and dedication of Arkansas service members.

"It is right here at home that the missions that they do every single day, every single month, that many of us take for granted and are so important," he said.

The Arkansas National Guard has about 10,000 soldiers and airmen in more than 100 units throughout the state.

Its 2011 budget was just over $415 million.
