One of the first steps to recovering from a tornado or any damage is to file an insurance claim.

Insurance agents Cheryl Long was busy Wednesday morning, making sure home owners had everything necessary to start rebuilding.

"When a storm hits like this, it's very important that you call your insurance agent. Once we get the claim turned in, we get a restoration company out and we set you up with additional living expenses. We put you in a hotel or an apartment and take care of your eating out, dry cleaning, your clothes, any kind of additional living expenses," said Long.

If your home was damaged in the store, don't delay in filing your claim. Most insurance policies limit time to file.
