Arkansas High School Basketball Tournaments Begin This Week. Fayetteville/Greenwood Host Sites

Post season basketball in Arkansas advances to state tournaments this week as Fayetteville hosts the 7A tournament in their brand new facillity and Greenwood hosts the 6A for senior high boys and girls.

Greenwood completing their first year as a a 6A member. The Greenwood girls won the 5A state championship last season. The tournament begins Tuesday at 1p with the states number 1 ranked Little Rock Hall taking on Little Rock Fair. Greenwood girls play Thursday at 1 against Siloam Springs, Greenwood boys take on Little Rock Fair at 5:30p on Wednesday.

In Fayetteville, the 7A state tournament begins Wednesday with Van Buren boys, Fort Smith Northside girls and boys and Fort Smith Southside girls involved. Van Buren faces Conway at 2:30p on Wednesday, Southside girls at 7p against Rogers Heritage. Fort Smith Northside boys and girls, both #2 seeds will play Thursday in back to back games at 7 and 8:30p.

In Pine Bluff, Clarksville boys and girls and Alma boys are in the 5A tournament at the Pine Bluff convention center. Clarksville has moved up to the 5A classification after the senior boys won the past two state championships in 4A.

The state tournament sites host through the semi finals this Saturday, the state championship games for all classifications will be held March 7, 8 and 9th at Verizon Arena in North Little Rock.
