Lowell Police took a man into custody Monday after a standoff that required SWAT negotiators.

Just before 10 p.m. Monday, Lowell Police received a report of possible shots fired in the Links Apartment Complex.
The caller told police he hard what he believed to be three shot gun blasts from an apartment on Birdie lane.
The caller told 911 operators he attempted to make contact with the resident and saw what he believed to be a shotgun.
When officers arrived on scene, they evacuated and secured two buildings in the complex.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office assisted with the use of their SWAT negotiators.
During negotiations, the resident contacted police himself and officers arranged to have him come out of the apartment.
He complied and was taken into custody by Lowell Police officers without further incident.
The incident remains under investigation.
