Its just one signature away from being finalized.
The state legislature has voted to pass the grocery tax cut. Now, its up to Governor Mike Beebe to sign the bill and make it official. The food tax cut would be in half, from 6 percent to 3 percent.
The grocery tax cut would reduce taxes by 252 million dollars a year, making it the largest tax cut in state history. This is a 3 percent tax cut but Governor Beebe says this is just the first step in phasing out the grocery tax.
The Governor is expected to sign the bill Thursday morning at ten.
