The School Performance Index Study by the University`s Department of Education Reform, was conducted as an effort to improve ways school performance is evaluated. Research was adjusted for socioeconomic factors and school funding. Researchers took the number of African-American and Hispanic students into account, but not the Asian student population. Decatur Superintendent Mike Parrish wants to know why other minority groups were left out.
