The body of a unidentified female was found on Beaver Lake Friday. Around 2:30 PM the Benton County Sheriff`s Office received a call from a witness reporting a female body floating near the swimming area at the South Park of Lost Bridge. South Park is normally a busy place, full of recreation and families. On Friday, the placid waters turned into a forensic crime scene. The sheriff`s office found the body of a white female floating about 15ft. off shore. No identification was released but she was described as being in her mid 30`s. A department official says the woman did not appear to have been in the water for a long period of time. But authorities are not commenting on a cause of death or indicating foul play. The body was left on shore but protected by deputies for some three hours until investigators gathered sufficient evidence. She was then placed carefully in a county van for further medical examination. Detectives did notice a late model white Honda Civic with Texas tags parked just a few hundred yards from the body. After combing it throughly for evidence, the car was then towed away to an undisclosed location.
