Baxter County, Arkansas authorities are investigating the shooting death of an officer. Investigators say the shooting happened during a routine traffic stop in Gassville. The suspect then took off, leading officers on a chase to Norfork, where deputies and Arkansas state police caught up with them. Investigators say the driver shot and killed his female passenger then got out of the vehicle and started shooting at officers, who returned fire. 18 year-old Jacob Robida was shot twice and was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield, Missouri. According to a state police spokesman Robida died just after 3:30 a.m. Sunday at Cox-South Hospital in Springfield. Robida is the same man wanted in a gruesome assault at a gay bar in New Bedford, Massachusetts earlier this week. The Arkansas officer killed is 63 year old James Sell. West Virigina state police identified the women shot as 33 year old Jennifer Rena Bailey. Both the Baxter County Sheriff`s office and Arkansas State Police are investigating the shooting.
