By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
The Congressman started in Elkins, meeting with constituents to answer question and address their concerns. Budd Saunders is a veteran. He came to ask about the troop is Iraq, "Our people in Iraq. Why wern`t they getting the proper equipment. They were sent in there without the proper equipment and they`re not getting it now. He assured me they`re working on that. Of course, those are just assurances." In the afternoon, Representative Boozman spoke to a gathering at the senior center in Springdale. Questions ranged from affordable healthcare options to wasteful spending in Iraq. And the impact of the War on Terror on other government programs. Representative Boozman says, "A lot of that money was spent right after the war where they were trying to do some things. We had some no-bid contracts. We`ve gotten rid of all that. And this money is going directly to the troops."
