Bentonville Poker Player has Eyes on World Series

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
Richard Howk says he started playing poker back before it became all the rage. "yeah, we started back before Moneymaker won in 2004." And he`s managed to win a little money playing local casinos. But now he wants to play in the big leagues, at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The problem...a minor league budget. Howk says, "I`m basically offering myself up as advertising space. If somebody decides to pay my way in, then they use me as advertising space anytime I get a picture or anything like that." So Richard has a web page at Poker Sellout dot com. And soon he`ll be up for auction on E-bay. And hopefully he`ll soon find a client with 10 thousand dollars to bet on a poker player from Bentonville. Howk says, "There is skill involved. But you won`t win without some luck from the cards."
