Some businesses close in winter weather. The Garner Building Supplies Store doesn`t. The store has been in business for fifty seven years and is prepared when conditions gets icy. Saturday morning snow shovels were flying off it`s shelves. The store opened at eight and by noon some items were sold out. The stores top seller was ice melter. It cost about five bucks for a fifty pound bag. Next on the list, snow shovels. The store sold about thirty and costumers are still buying them. Other hot items for the cold temperatures; gloves, windshield deicer, scrapers and snow sleds. Even though all these items sold well the store`s main focus wasn`t doing so hot.
"We sale building supplies as well as hardware so that end of the business was nonexistence but thats to be expected." Jack Johnson, assistant manager said.
The Garner Supply Store sold out of sleds in less than 2 hours Saturday morning.
