The mayor, city clerk and city attorney are looking at some possible pay increases.
Right now it appears the mayor could be making ten thousand dollars more next year.
KNWA tried talking to Mayor Steve Womack about his possible salary increase but he says he has no comment.
The city council members approved pay increases for the mayor, raising his salary from 90-thousand to 100-thousand. The city clerks salary would increase from around 48-thousand to 53- thousand and the city attorneys would go up only about five thousand.
Councilmembers say the pay increase is necessary since Rogers is growing so rapidly, a qualified person is essential. While most of the city council approved this increase, Councilman Greg Hines says it`s not necessary.
When this pay raise is put into place, it will make the Rogers mayor the highest paid in the state. Bentonville Mayor will fall into second place earning around 97-thousand. Fayetteville will slide to third at a little over 95-thousand. Little Rock and Fort Smith are well below cities in Northwest Arkansas.
Rogers city council members approved no change to their salaries.
They make about 72-hundred a year.
