They came to show their numbers and the strength of their economic impact. Thousands of immigrants, both documented and undocumented rallied in Springdale with a simple but united goal. Alejandro Aviles, the Master of Ceremonies for the rally said, "We really have two goals. One is to plead for a humane and comprehensive reform to immigration policies. And the other is to let Washington know we are watching what they are doing." They pledged their allegiance to the flag of the United States, they sang American the Beautiful. And they listened as Springdale`s religious leaders addressed the immigration issue. Britt Skarda, the pastor of Springdale`s First United Methodist Church said, "Northwest Arkansas is becoming what Northwest Arkansas is because of immigrants. They are a big part of turning this area into a place where a lot of people want to live. Home to all people."
