Gas Prices Increase

By: Channing Barker
Updated: March 1, 2012

The average price for a gallon of gas has gone up nearly 12 cents over the past three weeks according to a nationwide survey.  A Lunderberg survery found that the national average for a gallon of gasoline was $3.51.  A Lunberg spokesperson attributed the rise to an increase in oil of more than seven dollars a barrel. Prices at the pump are still expected to rise in the short term here in the United States. Among cities covered in the survey, Denver had the lowest price at $3.01 while New York suburbs on Long Island topped the charts at $3.82.
