Lt. Gov. reportedly in grave condition

Updated: April 17, 2007
The update in the ongoing battle is reported in a Web Blog of the Arkansas Times, that states Rockefeller is back in the state. The newspaper reports he returned Saturday: "But multiple sources tell us that he is hospitalized at UAMS in grave condition, his circumstances complicated by pneumonia. They also tell us he`s been calm and resolute, as he has been throughout a battle that always posed difficult odds," states the unsigned post. Rockefeller spokesman Steve Brawner said he wouldn`t release specific information about Rockefeller`s condition out of respect for his privacy and that of his family. A UAMS official declined comment. The son of the late Gov. Winthrop Rockefeller, Win Rockefeller cut short his plans last summer to campaign for the Republican nomination for governor, saying he had been diagnosed with myeloproliferative disorder. He received a bone marrow transplant last October through the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance and a second transplant March 29 after the first operation was unsuccessful. It was his return from the Seattle facility that prompted questions about the future. (Copyright 2006 Newsroom Solutions, LLC)
