At the New Hope Road exit in Rogers, traffic often slows to a crawl. New Hope and Horsebarn Road are in the process of getting a facelift. But engineers say once construction wraps up both roads will expand 5 lanes.
Construction on New Hope began in May of last year. Highway engineers expect the project to wrap up sometime next spring.
The widening of Horsebarn Road just got underway, and won`t be complete until the summer or fall of 2008.
In addition to road work, the John Q. Hammons Center recently opened, and businesses continue to set up shop in the area, at the Shoppes at Pinnacle Hills and the Pinnalce Hills Promenade.
All of this equals longer waits in the traffic line.
"People out here are working really hard to get it all finished...they`re doing the best they can," said resident engineer David Bushey.
