Residents served by the Washington Water Authority are still under mandatory conservation.
Five thousand Washington Water Authority customers are not allowed to water anything outside.
This is the first time the water company has issued a mandatory conservation. According to WWA, as Northwest Arkansas grows so does the water demand. In order to maintain the water pressures and volume, the water company is mandating their customers cut back.
The Washington Water Authority said a new booster pump station is in the works, which will be able to pump twice the amount of water out. They hope this will prevent a mandatory water conservation order next summer.
