ASP Looks into Petrino Crash

By: Amanda Ashley
Updated: April 6, 2012

The Arkansas State Police Commander is asking for answers relating to Captain Lance King's response to Bobby Petrino's motorcycle accident.

On Thursday afternoon, ASP completed its investigation of the motor-vehicle crash involving Bobby Petrino and Jessica Dorrell. Petrino's cell phone shows a call to King, asking for help. According to the police report, King picked Petrino up at an intersection in Fayetteville. King was not the officer who responded to the accident scene and in the ASP report filed, the responding officer reported finding no one when he arrived.

Subsequently public inquiries have arisen asking the State Police to offer answers to questions relating to the sequence of events which precipitated State Police Captain Lance King to respond to the Fayetteville location where he met Coach Petrino and any information Captain King may have learned about the crash during conversations with Coach Petrino.

While the inquiries have no direct correlation to the investigation of the motor vehicle crash, the questions are legitimate and worthy of answers.

On Friday afternoon, Captain King was asked to provide a detailed summary of his involvement with Coach Petrino and other individuals who've been identified within the crash investigation.

Arkansas State Police says they will have information from the summary which may be shared with the public early next week based on King's report.

Coming up tonight, we will have more on this report, including crash scene photos and the 911 call.
