The program is in response to Wake Up Wal-Mart`s "Change Wal-Mart, Change America" bus tour, which plans to crisscross Iowa over the next six days. A number of politicians are scheduled to speak at tour stops including Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson. The anti-Wal-Mart group contends that America`s largest employer is lowering wages and doesn`t provide adequate health care for its workers. Wal-Mart sent a letter to its associates in Iowa today disputing such claims. The "Change Wal-Mart, Change America" bus tour is visiting 19 states and 35 cities in 35 days.
