It's no doubt been an emotional rollercoaster these past few weeks for the razorback nation, and while there's so many different opinions on Jeff long's decision, at practice Friday the mood was clear--let's move past Petrino and focus on the future.
Hopes are high in hogville.
"They look good. They're very enthusiastic, everybody seems pretty good. I think they look great," says Sylvia Long.
Fans in the stands looking for any good news after coach bobby petrino was fired Tuesday.
"Just when you think you're headed for another good season and something like this happens and we fall back again," says Shawn Rapert.
But can the Razorbacks recover?
"I believe they can overcome this, I believe they'll press on forward and they'll do just fine," says Long.
"It's a bad situation, but I think a positive can come out of it," says Dwayne Huckaba.
"We've got a good staff, this staff can hold this team together and make a run for the national championship. They've got to have leadership at the top and I'm not convinved exactly how they're goiing to get that done," says Virgil Richmond.
Folks in the stands say they're here to help.
KWNA: "Why did you come out to practice today?"
"Show support for the team becuase of what happened with the Petrino thing, just want to let them know that we still stand behind them and we still believe they can win the national title," says Huckaba.
And even though they lost their leader, everyone else is still suiting up to play.
"We still have the same players, that's not changed so I think we can still win the national title," says Huckaba.
Razorback fans have their own thoughts on what the next coach should look like...
"I hope Jeff Long finds a good coach, I hope he doesn't get in too big of a rush," says Huckaba.
"I hope we can get a big name talented head coach to carry the team on to the next level," says Richmond.
But getting there will take a lot of work, and moving past Petrino.
"They know what's facing them ahead and they're not just going to back down," says Sylvia Long.
