A West Fork man is behind bars and accused of trying to murder his wife.

Deputies responded to the Kelley home after a man called the Kelley's to ask about puppies advertised on Craigslist.  The woman on the phone was crying, and he asked her if she needed help.  She said yes and gave the caller her address.  He then hung up and called 911.

Investigators say Jason Kelley, 27, punched and strangled his wife to the point her ears were popping and ringing and her vision became blurry.

According to investigators, Kelley also told her several times he was going to kill her.

He faces a charge of attempted murder, false imprisonment and terroristic threatening.

Kelley was convicted of robbery in 2003, 4th degree sexual assault in 2006 and failing to register as a sex offender in 2008 and 2009.
