Families Raise Awareness for Autism at AIM Walk

By: Liz Hogan
Updated: April 21, 2012
Families come together to raise Autism awareness in Bentonville Saturday morning at the 3rd Annual AIM 5K run & Fun Walk.

AIM stands for "Autism Involves Me."

The Northwest Arkansas Autism Support Group organizes the event each year.

The group says the money raised will be used toward grants for families dealing with autism.

"One in every 88 children are being diagnosed with Autism and it's important for the school district, for the parents, for everyone to be involved," says Traci Sickels, director of the NWA Autism Support Group.

There were also informational booths and games for everyone after the run walk.

More than 1,500 people attended.
