According to a new report, the state of Arkansas has improved its policies when it comes to disclosing information on abuse or neglect-related child deaths.

Back in 2008, the state earned a "C-" but recently moved up to an "A-"

Laura Kellams, Northwest Arkansas Director of Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families says the improvement could make a positive impact.

"If we find that we're steering in the wrong direction, then we can make policy and practice changes that can save childrens' lives."

Kellams also says continued monitoring of the new policies will make the difference.
