Updated: April 17, 2007
Investigators charged Gerald O`Shannon with four counts of felony rape of a mentally disabled teen. Investigators with the sheriff`s office say O`Shannon posted $50,000 bond Tuesday and was released-- we visited the mobile home park where he lives, he wasn`t home, but we did talk with some residents there. The sheriff`s department charged 57-year-old O`Shannon with raping a mentally disabled 15-year-old boy. According to investigators, the boy told them O`Shannon paid him not to tell anyone. Investigators say O`Shannon probably has other skeletons in the closet. "We`re still investigating some things, and from our investigations so far we`ve found that he`s been charged with this before several times but has never been convicted," Lt. John Moore said. Natalie Jones lives near O`Shannon. She says she became suspicious several months ago, when she saw the boy go inside O`Shannon`s mobile home. "Around 10 or later, I`ve seen him go in and the door shut and the lights turn off, I`ve heard the door actually lock." Jones says she`s known O`Shannon for a long time...and now worries about the safety of her four children. "He`d come down, we`d have coffee and talk and I kind of thought it was odd the way he looked at my kids when they`d play."
