Because there are so many animals coming in and not enough local families looking to adopt, the shelter has come up with a system to shuttle dogs to other states for adoption. The shelter says dogs are normally driven to a half-way point where another animal rescue group picks them up and takes them to families looking for a new pet. Dogs have been transported to states as far away as Wisconsin and Illinois. The shelter is always looking for volunteers. Just call 479-855-6020 to help out.
