Natural Gas Customers May See Lower Bills

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
According to the 2006 Short-Term Energy Outlook released by the Energy Information Administration, natural gas prices are expected to be between $8.34 Mcf to $9.70 Mcf. The Commission does not have the authority to regulate or establish the market price for natural gas. Natural gas prices are determined by the unregulated commodity markets. In a new release released today, the PSC says a CenterPoint Energy Customer suing 100 Ccf2 of gas per month can expect a bill of $118.70. That`s a 10 percent decrease from last year`s winter heating season. Arkansas Western Gas company customers could see a 9 percent drop from last year with an average bill around $125.59. Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Corporation customer could see an average bill of $146.98 a month an increase 3 percent from last year. The PSC based the estimations on current commodity costs. The PSC reminds customers that natural gas prices can be volatile. (Copyright 2006 Newsroom Solutions, LLC)
