According to the 2006 Short-Term Energy Outlook released by the Energy Information Administration, natural gas prices are expected to be between $8.34 Mcf to $9.70 Mcf.
The Commission does not have the authority to regulate or establish the market price for natural gas.
Natural gas prices are determined by the unregulated commodity markets.
In a new release released today, the PSC says a CenterPoint Energy Customer suing 100 Ccf2 of gas per month can expect a bill of $118.70. That`s a 10 percent decrease from last year`s winter heating season.
Arkansas Western Gas company customers could see a 9 percent drop from last year with an average bill around $125.59.
Arkansas Oklahoma Gas Corporation customer could see an average bill of $146.98 a month an increase 3 percent from last year.
The PSC based the estimations on current commodity costs.
The PSC reminds customers that natural gas prices can be volatile.
