The Walmart Northwest Arkansas Championship is trying to take care of its fans as record breaking heat hits the area.

The annual LPGA golf tournament was moved to June this year, and all week long temperatures have hovered around 100 degrees.  To help keep fans cool for the duration of the event, the tournament has added cooling tents, fans, and even free water at every concession stand.

Tournament Director David Shoemaker said, "We've got thousands of spectators and volunteers that's our focal point, so we'll take care of them the best we can.   Walmart is our title sponsor and made the call that we've got to do whatever it takes to ensure that everybody is safe and happy out here."

The tournament is also giving away 10 thousand cool towels to fans.

The event started on Friday, and will wrap up Sunday afternoon at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers.
