Special Election Results Are In For Two Cities

By:
Updated: April 17, 2007
Voters in two cities headed to the polls on Tuesday. In Fayetteville a decision was made for the final seat on the Fayetteville School Board with a run-off election between John Delap and Jeanie Hill. The run-off came after neither candidate received over fifty-one percent of the vote during the first election, but Tuesday`s vote finalized the position. Also in Fayetteville a separate ballot held the issue of land annexation. Originally Fayetteville and Farmington wanted to annex some of the same land, but Farmington`s annexation proposal failed in a vote last week. The city of Prairie Grove voted on annexation as well. They also wanted some land Farmington contested, but that issue is now moot after last week`s special election. The results of Tuesday`s vote are as follows.... Fayetteville School Board At-large Position 1 John Delap 1,274 Jeanie Hill 706 Fayetteville on the Question of Land Annexation For 1,417 Against 770 Prairie Grove on the Question of Land Annexation For 169 Against 101 Both Fayetteville and Prairie Grove will annex additional land into their borders and John Delap will hold the at-large position one on the Fayetteville School Board. Election results are unofficial until verified by an election commissioner.
