The prosecution called over ten witnesses to the stand Thursday.
Fayetteville investigator John Brooks took pictures of Loves body the day she was found. On the stand Thursday he showed the jury pictures of her decomposed body. He also pointed out a questionable substance that was literally dripping off of her body.
Brooks told the jury he had never seen such a substance, going on to say it actually seeped through the evidence bags. Now, what exactly this oily substance is, has yet to be revealed.
The jury saw pictures of April Loves body unwrapped from the sheets. There was a lot of blood, and a garbage bag wrapped around her waist. There were some abrasions right below her knees and on the top of her feet, but the investigator says she didnt appear to have any defensive wounds.
A mutual friend of both Brandon Sanders and April Love took the stand. She told the jury Sanders asked for a ride to the bus stop the weekend before Love was found dead in her apartment. She testified Sanders told her about the fights he and Love were having over the weekend, even claiming he thought Love was pregnant.
Aprils father, Ira love, told the jury it was un like his daughter not to call frequently. So, when he called her Sunday night after not hearing from her all weekend, he was surprised she was short and quick on the phone. That ended up being their last conversation
As Love left the stand, .he stared at Brandon Sanders, who just looked straight ahead.
Fayetteville investigator Shawn Chandler took the stand later in the day on Thursday. He was one of the first investigators to question Sanders. Chandler told the jury Sanders was very nervous when he was answering questions about his weekend in Fayetteville, but strangely showed no emotion when they told him April Love was found dead.
After the initial questioning, Chandler told the jury they obtained a search warrant and searched his home in Nashville, Arkansas. There, they found a duffel bag with Aprils wallet, phone and keys inside. Chandler told the jury the phone was destroyed. When police asked Sanders about why he had Love`s stuff in his bag, Sanders said he didnt know how it got there
