The net earnings represent 39-cents per share versus 25 cents per share in the third quarter last year.
Total operating revenue for the current quarter was 858-million dollars, a 7-percent increase over the 801-million dollars for the third quarter of 2005. A company news release says the increase in operating revenue was primarily attributable to growth in the fleet from 11,752 trucks in the third quarter of 2005 to 12,106 in the third quarter of 2006.
JBHT President and CEO Kirk Thompson says 70-percent of revenue in the quarter was from non-traditional truckload services.
